Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve

A visit to Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve, inside an extinct volcano, a short drive from Port Fairy.

We were keen to visit Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve, despite it threatening to rain. Driving into the reserve entrance, you enter an ancient volcano crater, and suddenly feel like you have left the flat agricultural landscape behind. The area contains several lakes and wetlands. And lots of birds and wildlife.

There are a number of short walks to choose from.

In one area several Golden Whistlers seemed to be having a dispute. This one had puffed itself up like a ball.
